We are thrilled to host our community and screen The Strike: the documentary chronicling the largest hunger strike in U.S. history through the voices of key organizers who led this movement while in solitary confinement in California prisons. If we want to learn how to act in this moment, we must learn from those who came before us and fought in the most censored of circumstances.
After the screening, we’ll host a performance with members of The Healing Project Choir and a talk back with JoeBill Muñoz (co-director), Jack Morris (inside strike organizer), Michael Saavedra (inside strike organizer), Dolores Canales (outside strike organizer), and Victor Pate (co-director of NY’s Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement Coalition).
